Description This hands-on summarizing reading tool is perfect for little readers! This summarizing resource comes with a visual Summary Slider template that coordinates perfectly with my original Retelling Sliders . Use this visual aide to help your students remember to state the key parts of a summary. They can use this for oral discussions, writing summaries, or even as a tool to help them write and tell their own original stories. There are TWO versions of the templates. One version has Jack & Jill visual cues to help your students remember each part of the Somebody, Wanted, But, So sequence. The star template is perfect to use with older readers or readers who are transitioning from the need to use visual cues.   THIS RESOURCE IS NOW DIGITAL, TOO! You’ll receive a link in the PDF to add the Google Slides to your Google Drive!   The pack comes with 20 coordinating reading passages that are specifically designed to match with the Summary Slider tool. Your students will read the short, manageable text three times for fluency. Then, they will draw and illustrate the key parts of a summary for comprehension (Somebody, Wanted, But, So). Finally, let your students use the Summary Slider to practice orally summarizing the story, as well!   But wait, there’s more! There’s more! The pack also comes with coordinating posters in both black and white, and color. Additional summary graphic organizers that directly align with the Summary Sliders are included, too! There are three different writing variations included for the graphic organizers.   Check out everything that is included in the pack: Summary Slider Instructions DIGITAL Google Slides for the summary sliders, posters, and passages! Special intervention and special education teachers will love the hands-on, visual appeal of these passages, as well as homeschooling families! Great for small groups, intervention, homework, morning work, additional reading reteaching and practice, and even as a summary assessment! Looking for MORE Reading Sliders?
